This past week, we went live with our new web site. Over six months in design and development, the new site has moved us a quantum leap forward in what Runley offers to our customers. It was a long, tough slog as we went through the process of deciding what we wanted, how we wanted it presented and then building the pages. The most demanding part of all was learning an entirely new language of coding and design.
A very large debt of gratitude has to go to the staff of Lux 9 Inc., who walked with us through all of this – without them the site would still be just an idea! Thanks to Annie, Duane and Kate – merci beaucoup!!
So, what’s new and different?
E-commerce – you can now purchase Runley Read-Along books directly from our site and have them shipped to your home. From Anchorage to Zurich, you have access to the full catalogue of Runley Read-Alongs. Additionally, each of the Runley eBooks has a direct link to the Apple iBookstore, where you can purchase and download the wonderful Runley stories in non-enhanced ePub format.
Responsive – the site is fully responsive so that it can be correctly viewed from a desktop computer, laptop computer, tablet or smart-phone. What does this mean? Well the simplest explanation is to say that the site “fits” itself to whatever device you are using (the material doesn’t spread off your screen). In an increasingly mobile world, we have to offer the best viewing experience possible to all of our users.
Social media – all of our social media feeds are visible from the web site (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and soon Pinterest). If you do not directly follow us on any of these media, you can see what we are doing by simply entering www.runley.com and clicking on one of the social media icons – you will be automatically redirected.
About Us – we have added an expanded page detailing the Runley corporate family – the authors, the illustrators and the principals. You can learn about us and why we do what we do!
More Visual – there are more images and more color in keeping with our artistic nature. Our corporate tri-color theme is used throughout to connect to the product branding used in our stories.
The Runley Blog – we now have our blog as a part of the web site rather than standing apart from us. Now you can follow our meanderings by simply clicking on the menu item “Blog” on www.runley.com
