The Principals of Runley:
Steve Runciman lived the Disney dream. For fourteen years he worked for the company’s Canadian division starting as an accountant, retiring in 2007 as Director of Creative Resources for Music and Music Publishing. Steve is the president and driving force behind Runley! He works with an award-winning creative team updating and expanding Runley’s catalogue of stories in its Fairytales, Original-Stories and Bible Stories series. Along with writing, editing, illustrating, co-producing and digital graphic design for Runley’s stories, he is also the finance, marketing and sales chief. Steve is a voting member of NARAS and CARAS, respective deliverers of the Grammy and Juno Awards.
Mary Runciman’s love of music is contagious and in thirty years of teaching elementary school, she has infected hundreds of children with her passion. Mary is an award-winning music educator and arts advocate, and brings her talents as an accomplished pianist, accompanist and performer to Runley Productions, Inc.’s creative team. She has co-authored and co-edited several Runley stories. As a former teacher, Mary understands curriculum-based learning, but she also understands that to motivate readers, reading has to be fun. To this end she has collaborated with Steve and Bruce to ensure that Runley’s line of stories improve literacy, encourage independence and create pride in readers.
Bruce Ley is a bluesman, jazz pianist and guitarist, session player, music director, singer, writer and composer, and his industry credits are as deep as they are long. Over four decades he’s worked with the likes of Chet Atkins, CBC TV legend Tommy Hunter, and Dolly Parton tribute artist, Leisa Way. His debut CD as lead guitarist and singer for the blues band Trouble and Strife won Best Blues Record of the Year in the 2007 Indie Awards and a Maple Blues Award. Bruce lends his talent to co-producing, writing and editing Runley’s line of quality educational-entertainment products. He and Steve have a symbiotic working relationship that’s reflected in the company name. If Steve is the Run in Runley, then Bruce is the Ley.
The Authors of Runley:

She has published book reviews and poems, but her favorite things to write are children’s books.
She has lived in Alberta, Missouri, and North Carolina, and currently resides in her hometown of Brantford, Ontario.
Annie Runciman combines her background in arts and music with her wild imagination to create uplifting stories. Annie created That’s What Makes Me Great! to expose children to acceptance of themselves while tapping into their amazing ability to dream and visualize. Her poetic storytelling style combined with her enchanting characters creates a book that is easily read by children. The basis of the story can be used to discuss with kids the incredible beauty of the differences that we all have and need to celebrate. Annie’s stories are available exclusively through Runley.
Will Runciman created the character ‘William’ in part because he himself loves anything that had motors, wheels, nuts, bolts, wires, gears, and makes lots of sounds – in short anything mechanical. Using a high energy storytelling style combined with an endearing character, Will has created a story base that is available exclusively through Runley. A professional fire fighter by trade, Will is very aware of the immense attraction that fire trucks have and effectively uses that to draw young readers into his vocabulary rich, colorfully illustrated story. His stories are ideal for parent-child reading time – a comfy chair, a warm blanket and a story about fire trucks…the perfect combination to entertain and educate.
Sharon Green wrote this adaptation of Jonah and the Whale to share with her precious grandchildren, with whom she loves spending time. Growing up in Eastern Ontario, Sharon has been involved in the instruction of youngsters at her local church for many years. She strongly believes in the importance of family and community in a child’s life.
